Cold Brew
Cold coffee has been good since 2005
Stuff you need
- Cold brew bag (we use Madesco) or a French Press
- Pitcher (if using a French Press you will not need a cold brew bag or a pitcher)
- Water
- Coffee (medium fine)
- Measuring cup (1 cup)
HOW TO BREW IT
Pre-Brew
- Measure 1 cup of coffee per 4 cups of water (4:1 ratio water to coffee)
- Grind coffee, add to cold brew bag & place bag in pitcher (medium-fine)
- 1 cup of coffee + 4 cups of water makes 32 oz
- 2 cups of coffee + 8 cups of water makes 64oz
Brewing
- Pour water slowly into cold brew bag
- Stir grounds to evenly saturate
- Pour at least half of the water though the cold brew bag
- Pull drawstrings tight & tie around top of bag
- Add rest of water to pitcher & place lid on
- Place pitcher in fridge for 24 hours
- After 24 hours, pull out coffee bag & place in strainer over a bowl to drain for 5-10 minutes
- Add the drained amount back into the pitcher of cold brew
Tips
- Water is super important, so we recommend using purified water
- If you brew your cold brew too strong, you can always dilute it to taste by using ice or water
- Fresh coffee beans do make a difference. Here’s one of our favorites for cold brew
